Brandon University researcher Dr. Dominique Hétu is a co-investigator on a nationally funded research initiative examining how Francophone literature represents care, vulnerability, and human dignity, and how these narratives create space for historically marginalized voices.

Dr. Hétu, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Francophone Studies and Languages, is part of the research team for Donner voix aux caregivers : sollicitude, soin et subalternité dans les littératures francophones de 1945 à aujourd’hui (Giving Voice to Caregivers: Care, Solicitude, and Subalternity in Francophone Literatures from 1945 to the Present).

Brandon University is pleased to announce that two BU researchers, Dr. Jennifer Mateer and Dr. Emma Varley, have received Insight Development Grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Brandon University is pleased to announce that Dr. Cameron Boult, Associate Professor of Philosophy, has been awarded a $72,702 Insight Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) to investigate a deceptively simple but urgently important question: do truth, facts, and critical thinking matter? And if so, why?

The four-year project, titled Relation-Based Epistemology, argues that the answer lies not in the individual mind, but in our relationships with one another.

A Brandon University research and arts-based initiative is using anonymous postcards to invite families and community members to share thoughts, reflections, and experiences they wish teachers knew. The project collects homemade and digital postcards featuring anonymous messages about schooling, parenting, learning, disability, mental health, equity, financial barriers, bullying, and more unseen experiences.
