International students at Brandon University have a chance to participate in research that could have national reverberations.
Dr. Aloysius C. Anyichie, Associate Professor of Educational Psychology and Student Services at Brandon University, is conducting a research study titled “Understanding and Supporting the Experiences of International Students in Higher Education in Canada.”
International students who are members of the Brandon University community have experiences and perspectives that are especially valuable to this research. Their voices will help Dr. Anyichie better understand the realities of international students and identify ways to strengthen the supports and services available to students across Canadian post-secondary institutions.
The purpose of Dr. Anyichie’s research is to better understand the experiences, perceptions, challenges, and support needs of international students studying at Canadian post-secondary institutions. The findings will help inform research, policies, and practices aimed at improving student support and fostering more inclusive and supportive learning environments across Canadian higher education.
Participation involves completing an online survey, with the option of volunteering for a follow-up online interview. The study has received ethics approval from the Brandon University Research Ethics Committee (BUREC).
The online consent form and survey is available at: https://forms.office.com/r/57yTQCBp0H
