Brandon University’s (BU’s) new Acting Vice-President (Academic & Provost) is a familiar face whose wealth of experience and institutional knowledge will continue to support BU’s many ongoing academic initiatives.
Dr. Meir Serfaty has been appointed to the key leadership position for a one-year term.

BRANDON, Man. – Brandon University (BU) is marking more than one milestone as the country prepares for Canada 150 celebrations this week.
While the Canada Day festivities on July 1 will signify 150 years since Confederation, 2017 also represents 50 years since BU received its charter and officially became a university.

Brandon University hosted six teams of high school students for the first Brandon High School Computer Science Competition.
The Crocus Plains team of Beatrice Nabong, Reilly Keele and Harshal Patel finished in first place locally as Brandon University hosted six teams for the inaugural Brandon High School Computer Science Competition, a satellite of the Manitoba High School Programming Competition.

BRANDON, Man. – Gervan Fearon will move on from Brandon this summer to become Brock University’s next President and Vice-Chancellor.
Brandon University wishes President Fearon all the best and thanks him for his years of collaborative and innovative leadership as President and Vice-Chancellor at Brandon.

BRANDON, Man. – The efforts and accomplishments of exceptional students and educators were recognized as part of the Brandon University (BU) 2017 Spring Convocation ceremonies on Friday, May 26.
Over the course of two ceremonies, 520 graduates received their degrees on Friday. Each graduate in attendance was also presented with a scarf by the Brandon University Alumni Association (BUAA).

BRANDON, Man. – Dr. Dennis Anderson, the longest-serving Brandon University (BU) President since BU received its charter in 1967, will be honoured this month.
The BU Board of Governors will confer the title of President Emeritus on Dr. Anderson at the University’s Spring Convocation on May 26. Dr. Anderson served as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University from 1990 to 2000.
