BRANDON – Polaris Music Prize winner Jeremy Dutcher will visit Brandon University (BU) to conclude the 2018-19 pro series season on Tuesday, March 5.

The Toronto-based musician will also take part in a workshop on Monday, March 4, presented by the Institute for Research in Music and Community at BU.
A former artist in residence at the National Music Centre (NMC), Dutcher was awarded the 2018 Polaris Music Prize, recognizing outstanding Canadian recordings, for his album “Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa.” Dutcher will follow his current tour of Western Canada by performing in Europe in April.

Writer, educator and activist Dr. Niigaan Sinclair will visit Brandon University (BU) for a free public talk on Monday, Feb. 4.
Dr. Sinclair’s presentation, Forgetting to Dream: Reconciliation in Reverse, will begin at 6 p.m. at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall, in the Queen Elizabeth II Music Building.

BRANDON – Two Toronto-based jazz musicians — saxophonist Tara Davidson and her spouse, trombonist William Carn — are back in Brandon after a three-year absence to kick off both the 2018–19 pro series and their Western Canadian tour.

BRANDON – Award-winning soprano Sarah Kirsch will return to the Lorne Watson Recital Hall at Brandon University (BU) as the Pro Series continues on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

A busy Winnipeg-based teacher and performer, Kirsch won the 2014 Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition and undertook an extensive cross-Canada tour following the event.
