An apple a day is good for a lot of things, and for Brandon University students who are cramming for exams this week, it’s a nice boost of fresh nutrition while they hit the books.
Putting a fresh spin on the old apple-for-teacher idea, one BU instructor has partnered with the Alumni Association to deliver fresh fruit throughout the university’s study areas during evenings all this week.

BRANDON, MB – MNP is honouring the memory of Shawn de Delley, a long-time MNP employee and supporter of Brandon University (BU), with a significant bursary to assist students enrolled in the University’s Bachelor of Business Administration program.
MNP’s gift of $25,000 will be matched with an equal amount from the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative (MSBI).
Blyss Pickering is a passionate advocate for nature and protecting the vital relationships between the urban and natural environments that surround us. She studies the ecological health of riparian forests around the City of Brandon, and is adding to both the social and scientific knowledge associated with municipal development in these areas.
Blyss tries to overcome her fear of frogs by holding one, if only for a moment.

BRANDON, MB – Brandon University (BU) celebrated its generous donors, outstanding volunteers and new inductees into the Order of the Sheaf at the Brandon University Foundation Annual Luncheon held on Friday, May 22nd. Also announced at the Luncheon were the recipients of the Brandon University Foundation’s major awards for 2015.
BRANDON, MB – A packed house celebrated Brandon University’s (BU) generous donors and outstanding student achievements on the evening of March 18th, 2015 during BU’s annual Awards Reception. The event connected donors who have supported scholarships and bursaries with the student recipients of those awards in the spirit of fellowship and celebration.
He hadn’t planned on attending Brandon University. He didn’t even plan on working in Brandon.
Born in rural Manitoba and raised in Brandon, Jillian is small-town modest but brilliant, earning a medical degree in six years compared to eight to ten for most Canadian doctors.
“At med school,” she says, “you meet all these people who have wanted to be doctors since they started walking.
