BRANDON, Man. – Despite veering away from her original plan to become a teacher, Carmen Miedema remains committed to helping others learn.
A graduate of Brandon University (BU), Miedema is in her first year in the Archival Studies master’s program at the University of Manitoba (UM), where she received the Archival Studies Entrance Scholarship for the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) last year.

Brandon University (BU) has scheduled three open town hall sessions this month to gather wide community feedback for its new, stand-alone sexualized violence policy, now in draft form.
The draft policy, related information, resources, and details about the consultation process have been posted to a new website at BrandonU.

Thanks to a hugely successful fundraising effort led by Brandon College and Brandon University alumni, a symbolic staff that represents student leadership will soon be back in the hands of students.
“We know that so many of our alumni have very fond memories of the Senior Stick and Lady Stick, and we are thrilled that we were able to so quickly reach our fundraising goal,” said Carla Eisler, Alumni Relations Officer at BU. “Along with several of the donations came touching notes that really drove home how important this symbol has been to alumni who were here at that time.

BRANDON, Man. — Although the end of Mental Illness Awareness Week in Canada is near, the conversation will continue with the Mental Health on the Prairies (MHP) conference next week at Brandon University (BU).
Hosted by the BU Faculty of Health Studies as well as Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living, the conference will take place from Wednesday, Oct. 12 to Friday, Oct. 14 with nearly 35 presentations from top-notch speakers.

As Brandon University (BU) begins planning for our next few decades of growth and development, we are inviting all members of the community to share their visions of the future of the university, including how they currently use and engage with the campus.
BU is working with consultants who specialize in this type of assessment and long-range planning to develop a Campus Master Plan for the University.

BRANDON, Man. – Today is an occasion to celebrate for Brandon University’s (BU) newest graduates.
A total of 536 degrees were awarded at the 2016 Spring Convocation in two ceremonies at BU’s Healthy Living Centre.
