This upcoming October, Brandon University will host “Movies for Mental Health,” a workshop conducted in partnership with BU Student Services and the North American organization Art With Impact. The event will take place on campus on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 from 4:30–6:30 p.m.

Tickets to the Chris Hadfield keynote at Brandon University’s 50th-anniversary Homecoming next month have sold out. Tickets to the event went on sale Monday at noon and the last one was snapped up by mid-afternoon on Wednesday.

BRANDON – Decorated astronaut, engineer and pilot Col. Chris Hadfield will launch Brandon University’s 50th anniversary Homecoming celebrations with a public keynote on Friday, Oct. 12.
“I am over the moon to welcome Col. Chris Hadfield to our Homecoming stage,” said Dr. Steven Robinson, Interim President of BU. “Every Canadian has been inspired by Col. Hadfield’s feats, and I look forward to hearing the academic, social and scientific insights he has gleaned from the rare perspective of Earth orbit.”
At the Friday evening keynote, Hadfield will speak on “An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth,” showing the Brandon audience how to “think like an astronaut.
BRANDON – Two Toronto-based jazz musicians — saxophonist Tara Davidson and her spouse, trombonist William Carn — are back in Brandon after a three-year absence to kick off both the 2018–19 pro series and their Western Canadian tour.
They won’t be alone when they play at Brandon University’s Lorne Watson Recital Hall on Tuesday, Sept.

Meeting new people is one of the highlights of Orientation.
BRANDON – Almost 40 students from Brandon University’s (BU) Master of Psychiatric Nursing (MPN) program met on campus this week for their orientation.
The students work in the mental health field at locations across Canada, many of them full time, while advancing their skills and knowledge through distance education at BU. During the annual three-day orientation, the students take part in seminars, share their research and get to know their professors and each other.
