Nicole Brasseur’s Bachelor of Fine Arts thesis exhibition is encouraging others to consider disabilities beyond those they can see.
An artist from southwestern Manitoba, Brasseur is a student in the IshKaabatens Waasa Gaa Inaabateg Department of Visual Art, centring her practice around mixed media sculpture and installations. Brasseur has been showing her exhibition, a chronic invisibilty, for the past week at the Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art. The exhibition focuses on her experiences with chronic pain.

On April 23, 2022, six of Canada’s best emerging pianists performed live-streamed recitals for the 45th Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition (E-Gré) in Piano.
The E-Gré Competition began in 1976 and is the most important annual Canadian and contemporary music competition.

Brandon University graduate Whitney Hodgins has been named the first recipient of the new Jim and Ginette Munson Autism Leadership Award, after spending years raising awareness for Manitobans with disabilities.
The 27-year-old formally received this award during the eighth annual Canadian Autism Leadership Summit, an event that is run by the Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorder Alliance (CASDA) and officially wrapped up on Tuesday.
