Brandon University is pleased to announce the premiere of a graphic novella video adaptation of It Happened to Me & It’s Not Okay: Sharing Stories of Sexual Violence, an acclaimed research-based narrative originally published as a graphic novella resource. The animated version adds voice performance, motion within comic panels, original sound design, and music to create a powerful audio-visual experience that deepens understanding of the lived experiences of sexual and gendered violence.

Pop-up shop will return March 25

Brandon University’s inaugural Confidence Closet has demonstrated the power of community partnership in supporting student confidence, access, and sustainability in career preparation.

Delivered as a collaboration between the BU Co-op Program and the Faculty of Education Field Experience Office, the pop-up shopping experience provided students with access to professional attire in a welcoming, low-barrier environment while promoting reuse and responsible consumption.

Brandon University will mark Black History Month in February with a series of events designed to foster learning, mentorship, and celebration, featuring nationally recognized scholar Dr. Bukola Salami and a student-focused community celebration led by the Loy Excellentia Initiative.

“Black History Month gives us an important opportunity to learn together and to reflect on how institutions can better support Black students and communities,” said Cheryl Fleming, Diversity and Human Rights Advisor at Brandon University.

Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival – Official Announcement

The Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival announces that the concert originally scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, has been postponed. This decision was made due to an unexpected circumstance that can occur with any performing artist, and reflects the Festival’s commitment to maintaining the highest artistic and professional standards.

The Brandon University community is coming together to help students step confidently into upcoming interviews for Co-op opportunities, Field Experience, and early career roles. The BU Confidence Closet, led by the Faculty of Education’s Field Experience Office in partnership with the BU Co-operative Education Program, will provide students with free access to gently used professional clothing.
