BRANDON – Nearly 600 students will receive degrees on Friday as Brandon University’s (BU’s) largest graduating class in six years takes part in the Spring 2018 Convocation.
Two ceremonies at BU’s Healthy Living Centre (HLC) will confer degrees on 583 graduates.
Brandon University (BU) will hand out more than degrees at its annual Spring Convocation on Friday, June 1.
The exceptional accomplishments of several alumni and educators will also be recognized at the ceremonies at the BU Healthy Living Centre (HLC). Three Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented, as well as three awards for current BU faculty, and the Distinguished Teacher Awards.
Nearly 650 students from 20 schools across western Manitoba have visited Brandon University (BU) this week to take part in fun and educational experiments as part of BU’s annual Experience Chemistry Week.

Areas that currently don’t have access to adequate mental health care will be receiving greater attention from researchers at Brandon University (BU) following the appointment of BU professor Dr. Rachel Herron as a Canada Research Chair (CRC).
Herron has been named the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Rural and Remote Mental Health, a five-year appointment that is accompanied by $500,000 in funding from the national CRC program.

The students were nominated by BU faculty and staff for their accomplishments and contributions academically and in the community.
