BRANDON – A travelling exhibit of images from the former Brandon Indian Residential School will be on display for the public in the John E. Robbins Library at Brandon University (BU) until Friday, Oct. 20.
The Brandon Indian Residential School Mobile Learning Centre is designed to educate and promote next steps on the journey of reconciliation. The Learning Centre features 27 large format photos, which span the history of the school.

Brandon University remains the best university in Canada for students who want to get to know their professors, according to Maclean’s magazine, with an outstanding 12 students per faculty member, and impressively low class sizes, especially in third- and fourth-year classes.
“Students who choose Brandon University tell us they are attracted to our supportive, welcoming environment, and small classes are a big part of that,” said Interim BU President Dr. Steve Robinson.

BRANDON – Doris Pratt will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Brandon University (BU) Senate this weekend during BU’s Homecoming celebration.
This year’s expanded Homecoming festivities begin tonight, and Pratt will be recognized at the annual Homecoming Dinner and Awards banquet on Saturday.

The Department of Visual and Aboriginal Art is delighted to celebrate Colleen Granger (Bachelor of Fine Arts, 2016, Honours Painting) as the first Brandon University (BU) participant in its graduate exchange program with the École supérieure d’arts et medias de Caen/Cherbourg in the Normandy region of France.
Granger was selected from a group of BU Bachelor of Fine Arts graduates to participate in a visual artist residency from September to November 2017.

With September having drawn to a close, Western Manitoba’s two post-secondary institutions are thrilled with the reaction to this year’s “Great Chemistry” campaign to welcome students for the fall term.
This year’s campaign focused on the benefits of the partnership between ACC and BU, as well as the benefits that students bring to the community.

The Department of Visual and Aboriginal Art is proud to announce that current Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours student Jimmie Kilpatrick is the recipient of a Manitoba Arts Council Student Bursary award for the 2017-18 school year.
This $2,000 award celebrates and supports the completion of his graduating thesis year, which includes a solo exhibition at the Glen P. Sutherland Gallery.
