Students in Canada’s only Master of Psychiatric Nursing program spent several days on campus at Brandon University this week, getting to know each other, their faculty, and their areas of research interest as they embark onto another year of graduate studies.
BU’s Master of Psychiatric Nursing (MPN) program was launched in 2011 and is the only one of its kind in Canada.

A Brandon University master’s student has earned a significant industry scholarship for her work with specialized mapping software.
For her master’s thesis, Alyssa Eagle researched the risks of amphibian mortality on roads using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology.

BRANDON – Funding announced today by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) will help a Brandon University (BU) researcher’s work to create a better understanding of cancer, heart disease and stroke.
Dr. Vincent Chen, an Assistant Professor in BU’s Department of Chemistry, is a recipient of an NSERC Discovery Grant, with a value of $165,000 over five years.
With the symbolic shift of a tassel from one side of their mortarboards to the other, nearly 600 Brandon University students became Brandon University graduates, receiving their degrees at today’s Convocation ceremonies. It was Brandon University’s largest graduating class in six years.

Ebenezer Duncan-Williams is the recipient of the Margaret Haughey Award for the best master’s thesis in Educational Administration, presented by the Canadian Association for the Study of Educational Administration.

The students were nominated by BU faculty and staff for their accomplishments and contributions academically and in the community.
