As Brandon University (BU) begins planning for our next few decades of growth and development, we are inviting all members of the community to share their visions of the future of the university, including how they currently use and engage with the campus.
BU is working with consultants who specialize in this type of assessment and long-range planning to develop a Campus Master Plan for the University.

BRANDON, Man. – Today is an occasion to celebrate for Brandon University’s (BU) newest graduates.
A total of 536 degrees were awarded at the 2016 Spring Convocation in two ceremonies at BU’s Healthy Living Centre.

A Brandon University (BU) science student has earned a significant scholarship due to her project on the use of Geographic Information Systems in wildlife management.
Brandice Hollier, a Geography major, received an Esri Canada GIS Scholarship in the form of a $900 cash award as well as $6,000 worth of software, textbooks and online training, and free registration for one of the company’s user conferences.

BRANDON, Man. – Brandon University’s (BU) outstanding students and the generous donors that help them reach their goals were celebrated on Wednesday night at the annual BU Awards Reception.

BRANDON, Man. – In recognition of International Women’s Day, Brandon University (BU) is spending the week saluting some of its outstanding female students.
Members of BU’s faculty and staff were asked to nominate students who have excelled in their studies and provided meaningful contributions to the community.

BRANDON, MB – With “I do so promise”, Dr. Gervan Albert Fearon was installed as the 15th President of Brandon University (BU) before a crowd including students, staff, provincial and federal politicians, Aboriginal leaders, and academics and University administrators from across Canada.
Cloaked in the grey and blue robes of office, President and Vice Chancellor Fearon thanked the audience for the opportunity to serve and to lead, noting, “We are all here with the sense of a brighter future for the University, and that spirit binds us.”
University Chancellor Michael Decter introduced Dr. Fearon as someone “who can move people in the direction of positive and constructive change”, a theme repeated by the province’s Minister of Education and Advanced Learning.

BRANDON, MB – A prominent whale researcher will be the keynote speaker when geographers from across western Canada and North Dakota meet this weekend in Riding Mountain National Park.
Brandon University (BU) is playing host to the annual conference of the Prairie Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers (PCAG), with about 100 representatives from BU, University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, Lakehead University, and the University of North Dakota.

BRANDON, MB – A renowned whale researcher who appears in a celebrated documentary movie that’s generating Academy Award buzz will be speaking at Brandon University (BU).
Dr. Dave Duffus, associate professor at the University of Victoria, is featured in the 2013 film Blackfish, which explores the controversy of killer whales in captivity.
