BRANDON, MB – Staff at Brandon University has donated the proceeds from a novel raffle of gift baskets to the Brandon and Westman Christmas Cheer Office.

Twenty baskets with unique themes including Redneck Christmas, 50 Shades to Get You Through the Season, It’s All About the Children and the Hey Girl Spa Package were put together by BU employees from every one of the University’s faculties and raffled this past week at the University’s annual Holiday Luncheon for staff, faculty and students.

Mr. Dick and Mrs. Verda McDonald are BU alumni who first met on campus in the 1950s, married, and raised three sons in Brandon.

BRANDON, MB – Exceptional musicians from around the world are returning to Brandon for the week-long Augustfest Homecoming Concert Series, an annual festival featuring performers who were either raised or studied music in southwestern Manitoba.

Highlights this year will include baritone Hugh Russell, a native of Rivers MB, who has performed with the Danish Radio Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Naples Philharmonic; pianist Sergei Saratovsky, a Russian-born graduate of Brandon University’s School of Music, who has played to audiences in Canada, Russia Portugal, the US and Australia.
BRANDON, MB – Clothed in traditional cap and gown, 558 students received their degrees during graduation exercises at Brandon University (BU) on Friday, May 31st. Capacity crowds of more than 2500 people cheered the grads, during morning and afternoon programs in BU’s Healthy Living Centre.
