Dr. Demetrios Tryphonopoulos is currently Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies and Professor of English at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), the oldest English language university in Canada and one of the oldest public universities in North America.

BRANDON, MB – A history professor at Brandon University (BU) has been given a prestigious national award for her career efforts in women’s history, which include films, books, and work with the Canadian Human Rights Museum and the Canadian Museum of History.
Dr. Rhonda Hinther captured the Marion Dewar Prize, presented by the National Capital Committee on the Scholarship, Preservation and Dissemination of Women’s History.

Gifted to BU by Chancellor Emeritus, Ryerson University, G. Raymond Chang and Donette Chin-Loy Chang, Dr. Herbert Ho Ping Kong’s The Art of Medicine: Healing and the Limits of Technology will provide students with insight into the core principles of Dr. Ho Ping Kong’s patient-centred approach to diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Alex Michalos spent the last five years creating the Encyclopedia of Quality of Life and Well-Being Research, a 12-volume set containing essays from scholars in 58 countries on hundreds of topics including friendship, illiteracy, marginalized communities, yoga, gambling, and 22 of the most popular Quality of Life indexes used by governments and public policy institutes.

“In the last 40 years, farmland approximately twice the size of Prince Edward Island has been taken over for urban activities,” says Dr. Doug Ramsey from BU’s Department of Rural Development and member of the research team that will spend the next four years studying agricultural land use planning in Canada.
