Acclaimed author and radio host Dr. Brian Goldman will deliver a free public talk at Brandon University next weekend as part of BU Homecoming 2024.
In his talk, Dr. Goldman will speak about health care in Westman and the power of teamwork, including BU’s plans to host a medical school on its campus.
An exhibit based on the results of a Brandon research partnership will go on display in Winnipeg in September.
Brandon University’s Cooperative Education Program (BU Co-op) has achieved 100 per cent employment for its students for the second year in a row. This outstanding accomplishment underscores BU Co-op’s dedication to providing unparalleled career opportunities and professional development to its students. Forty-one BU Co-op students are employed this summer in fields that match their career aspirations.
They are busy bees in the hives atop Brandon University. The urban honeybee research project known as Bee U doubled in size last season, and brought in more than twice as much honey, despite challenges.

Three major music events are coming together at Brandon University this weekend and early next week, putting on a series of concerts and performances that promise to wow audiences.
The annual E-Gré competition this weekend will be followed by a conference of the Canadian University Music Society, or MusCan, early next week, as well as a simultaneous meeting of the Canadian Network for Musicians’ Health and Wellness (CNMHW).
Dr. Austin Gulliver and Dr. Tyler Foster of BU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy will host a viewing of Monday’s solar eclipse.
They will set up two solar-filtered telescopes, from about 12:50 p.m., to about 3 p.m., outside the south entrance of the John R. Brodie Science Centre, along Louise Ave. They will also have welder’s glasses and eclipse viewing shades available for $1 each on a first-come, first-served basis. They also donated 40 glasses to Riverheights School in Brandon.
Brandon University (BU) will celebrate Indigenous excellence with a series of events, beginning in mid-February and running until late March. Coordinated by the Indigenous Peoples’ Centre (IPC) at BU, the events will include talks, cultural activities and entertainment.
The Gender & Women’s Studies (GWS) program at Brandon University invites proposals for projects that foster links between community-based organizations and our academic program. This community grant aims to help non-profit organizations prepare projects such as workshops, research projects, short-term programming, or other special projects.
Brandon University is marking February as Black History Month 2024. This is a time we honour the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities in February, and forever.
