The Destination: BU video challenge was bigger and better than ever for the 2023-24 academic year, as two international students earned $500 prizes for sharing their voyages to Brandon University with a worldwide audience.
It’s been a strong end to 2023 for Brandon University geography professor Dr. Doug Ramsey, who teaches in rural development.
Following two significant awards in November, from his geography peers, Dr. Ramsey capped the year by being named to the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation board of directors.

The latest play by the Brandon University writing team of Dr. Darrell Racine and Prof. Dale Lakevold was recently named Best Full Length Play in Theatre BC’s Canadian National Playwriting Competition for 2022.
Two of Brandon University’s most dedicated faculty will be honoured with Awards for Excellence bestowed by the university Senate at this year’s Convocation.
The Senate Award for Excellence in Research (Tier 1) is being awarded to Megumi Masaki from the BU School of Music, and the Senate Award for Excellence in Teaching (Tier 1) will be presented to Dr. Nicholas Watier from the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Science.
