Brandon University Visual Arts Assistant Professor Lisa Wood has a unique perspective on university cafeterias, and she’d like to share it with you.
Her exhibit, Cafeteria II, is on display at the University of Winnipeg from now until April 8, in Gallery 1C03.
It’s a joint exhibition with fellow artist Elvira Finnigan, exploring the dynamics of eating together and question how the experience of sharing a meal might be recorded and remembered.

Brandon University (BU) Theatre is preparing to stage the Canadian debut of Boy, a play by Leo Butler that was named one of the top 10 plays of 2016 by The Daily Telegraph in London.
The production will run from March 2 – March 5 at the Evans Theatre at BU.
Boy follows a day in the life of Liam, a young boy without much in the way of a stable home, struggling to find his place in the world.

A Brandon University (BU) researcher is tracking down stories from the Brandon First World War internment camp to use in a virtual reality project.
“I’m hoping to find pictures or stories of people who were there — or near there,” says Joe Dauphinais, a recent BU grad who has been brought on as a researcher for the project.

Beginning this week the Sutherland Gallery will host Cabin Fever, an exhibition featuring work made by students from BU’s Department of Visual and Aboriginal Art. The exhibition will open on Thursday, Jan. 19, with a special reception planned for 7 p.m.

A graduate of Brandon University (BU), Miedema is in her first year in the Archival Studies master’s program at the University of Manitoba (UM), where she received the Archival Studies Entrance Scholarship for the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) last year.

The goal of the conference, held every two years, is to promote dialogue, critical reflection and broad engagement around developments affecting the Black and other communities in Canada.
