Brandon University has teamed up with Bee City Brandon to present an art exhibit celebrating bees, butterflies, birds, and other pollinators that can be found in Brandon and Western Manitoba.

The incredible art of three members of Brandon University’s (BU’s) Class of 2022 will be on exhibition this summer at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (AGSM).
Nicole Brasseur, Carly Morrisseau and Faith Rae will be featured in the joint exhibition Reclaiming Our Narratives, from May 26 to July 16. All three are Bachelor of Fine Arts students in the IshKaabatens Waasa Gaa Inaabateg Department of Visual Art at BU, and the presentation in the AGSM’s Community Gallery is built around their thesis exhibitions.
The long-term effects of large-scale resource extraction are being looked at in a unique way thanks to a project led by artist and Brandon University (BU) Adjunct Professor Ben Davis.
Davis has been awarded a Research and Creation Grant worth $21,800 from the Canada Council of the Arts to support the project, titled extracted.
Lisa Wood, an Assistant Professor in Brandon University’s IshKaabatens Waasa Gaa Inaabateg Department of Visual Art, has painted the official presidential portrait of former University of Winnipeg President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Anette Trimbee.
The artwork was unveiled recently at UWinnipeg’s Richardson College.
The Brandon University (BU) Department of Visual and Aboriginal Art will present a pair of public talks in Brandon next week.
On Monday, Feb. 3, Sherry Farrell Racette will visit the Manitoba Métis Federation — South West Region building at 656 Sixth St. for her presentation “Beads, Silk and Quill: Métis Women’s Art.” The free talk will begin at 7 p.m.

For the first time, a Brandon University fine arts graduate has been named the regional winner in the BMO 1st Art! competition.
Jimmie Kilpatrick, also known as “Shotgun Jimmie,” won $7,500 for his rock-and-roll inspired submission, entitled “Quality Control.
BRANDON, MB – A new display of whimsical artwork from Brandon artist and author Dr. Kurt Noll has opened in the campus library at Brandon University.
The exhibition features eighteen drawings and paintings, mostly produced during the past year, but with several examples of Dr. Noll’s earlier work.
