There’s a future in history, and a new Public History program will prepare students to take full advantage of that future by accessing the unique strengths of both Brandon University and Assiniboine Community College.
The new program is the first undergraduate program in Public History in Western Canada and gives students a total of four new options to earn a degree.
Aspiring writers can learn from a pro next week, as Saskatchewan novelist and writer Melanie Schnell visits Brandon University and the Brandon Public Library to share her experience and expertise with students, faculty, and all aspiring writers. Schnell will lead two events on February 1 and 2, jointly co-organized by the Brandon Public Library and the BU Department of English and Creative Writing’s Literary Exchange Speaker Series, supported by the Dean of Arts.
BRANDON – Brandon University (BU) students will benefit from $330,000 in additional support this year through two valuable new bursaries approved on Tuesday by the BU Senate.
The bursaries were created to realize the benefits of changes to the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursaries Initiative (MSBI).

BRANDON – Students from Brandon University (BU) and Minot State University (MSU) are meeting today at the International Peace Garden to renew a tradition that dates back to the college days for both institutions.
More than 35 students and five faculty members are taking part in the 65th annual political science conference between BU and MSU, presenting on this year’s topic of Canada and the United States: Then and Now. Brandon University is being represented by 23 students and four faculty member.
