Brandon dodged the worst impacts of the blizzard, but this morning still saw high winds, challenging road conditions, difficult or impassable sidewalks with blown-in drifts, and a closed Trans-Canada Highway. We are thankful that we made the prudent choice yesterday to close campus yesterday evening and this morning.

Brandon University (BU) saluted more than 50 employees on Thursday, holding a ceremony in Harvest Hall to recognize their long-term commitment.

The Long Service Employee Recognition Event is held each year in honour of faculty and staff members who have reached five-year milestones of 10 years or more at BU. This year, 54 employees, with a remarkable 910 years of cumulative service, were recognized.

Some of Brandon University’s most committed donors were celebrated at an evening reception this week. Members of the President’s Circle were welcomed to the annual Holiday Reception to meet with new BU President Dr. Christine Bovis-Cnossen.

Brandon University is once again looking for the right artist who will create a special memento for the coming year’s graduates. The university’s Convocation 2026 artwork will be presented to all graduates at Convocation in the spring, continuing the cherished annual tradition.
