BRANDON, MB – A Brandon University (BU) professor has written a ground-breaking book: a go-to guide for politicians and policy-makers trying to bring peace to conflict-ravaged regions. Power-Sharing and Political Stability in Deeply Divided Societies, by Dr. Allison McCulloch, is the first major comparison of the two most common power-sharing models used in peace accords over the last 20 years.

Keynote speaker Dr. Bill Reimer introduces the new Rural Policy Learning Commons project to a dozen leaders of research centres across Canada. He called for more active exchanges among centres in Canada and with other OECD countries.

BRANDON, MB – A prominent whale researcher will be the keynote speaker when geographers from across western Canada and North Dakota meet this weekend in Riding Mountain National Park.
Brandon University (BU) is playing host to the annual conference of the Prairie Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers (PCAG), with about 100 representatives from BU, University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, Lakehead University, and the University of North Dakota.

Dr. Dave Duffus, associate professor at the University of Victoria, is featured in the 2013 film Blackfish, which explores the controversy of killer whales in captivity.

BRANDON, MB – The Dean of Brandon University’s internationally-renowned music programming has accepted a new challenge – alumni engagement, fundraising, and partnership building. Dr. Michael Kim, Dean of the School of Music, has been named Acting Associate Vice-President (External), and will oversee the University’s community campaigns including the current Score a Seat initiative to raise the final dollars for the Healthy Living Centre.
