A familiar face who has built close relationships across campus and throughout our region will elevate Indigenous initiatives to the highest levels at Brandon University.

Chris Lagimodiere assumes the newly created position of Associate Vice-President, Indigenous Initiatives as of August 1. The new role will oversee and direct all major Indigenous initiatives at BU, as well as the work of the Director of the Indigenous Peoples’ Centre and other supports that are in place to assist in the success of Indigenous students at BU. Lagimodiere will also serve as the campus’ primary outreach to the broader community regarding Indigenous initiatives.

Colleagues and friends are remembering Dr. Harvey Young for his kind manner, intellect and commitment to Brandon University (BU) after the passing of the Professor Emeritus and BU alumnus on Tuesday, May 9, at the age of 88.

The BU flag is being lowered to half-mast in his honour.

Dr. Young studied at Brandon College, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in Geology in 1955, and was a member of the College Caps hockey team.

WINNIPEG – Bright, airy, and well-lit spaces, filled with high-tech equipment help support an expanded class of psychiatric nursing students at Brandon University’s campus in Winnipeg.

In fact, 50 per cent more students than before are already using the space, thanks to renovations over the past year and new funding from the province.
