RBC Future Launch funding focused on increasing access for diverse students
Brandon University’s Co-operative Education Program has nearly tripled in size since its founding three and a half years ago, and will be able to add 450 new spaces for students to benefit from work-integrated learning experiences thanks to big boost from RBC Future Launch.
“Co-operative education connects eager students with employers and mentors, helping students to build skills, grow their networks, and launch their careers,” said BU President David Docherty.

A new scholarship founded by the local Sikh community will support Brandon University (BU) students who demonstrate an interest in studying human rights issues.
Seventeen members of the Brandon’s Sikh community have raised $11,520 to date to establish a scholarship in honour of Guru Tegh Bahadur, a key leader in the history of Sikhism.

A new program this fall will help Indigenous students at Brandon University make a successful transition to post-secondary life, and it is thanks to a large and generous donation.
Daphne Wagner and her husband David Green, along with their children Lita and Michael, have committed funding to launch the program, which will help Indigenous students entering business, science or health studies transition effectively to university life — and support them through the completion of their degrees.

Brandon University will be the venue for a memorial reception in honour and memory of the late Dr. Harold (Jack) Perkins, a former President and Vice-Chancellor at BU.

Brandon University’s 50th anniversary year sparked an extraordinary outpouring of generosity from donors, who responded to BU’s Annual Fund appeal by more than tripling last year’s amount.
More than $370,000 was received between Oct. 12, 2017 and Oct. 12, 2018 — a timeline that ran from Homecoming to Homecoming as Brandon University celebrated its BU50 anniversary.

Gerald Brown and Nathan Peto will be recognized with Alumni Awards at the annual celebration.

BRANDON – A generous $50,000 donation has given Brandon University (BU) another big reason to celebrate as it marks its 50th year as a chartered university.
Brandon University alumnus and current Board of Governors member Kerry Auriat is partnering with National Bank Financial – Wealth Management, to make a $50,000 commitment to BU’s Healthy Living Centre (HLC).
