This community grant aims to help non-profit organizations prepare projects such as workshops, research projects, short-term programming, or other special projects.

The Gender and Women’s Studies (GWS) program at Brandon University (BU) is accepting proposals for grants that will support community-based programs that aim to reduce discrimination and oppression.

Supported by the Margaret Laurence Endowment Fund, the grants foster links between non-profit community organizations and GWS. Projects could include those with the goal of reducing discrimination related to gender, race, class, sexuality, disability and neurodivergence.

Four community organizations will benefit from grants from the Gender and Women’s Studies (G&WS) program at Brandon University (BU) this year.
The G&WS program is providing $18,000 in funding through the Margaret Laurence Endowment Fund.

Pride Month at Brandon University (BU) closes with the addition of a new bursary from the Gender & Women’s Studies Program (GWS) to support 2SLGBTQIA+ students.
With a $10,000 contribution from the Margaret Laurence Endowment Fund, GWS at BU has established a new bursary for students who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ (Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual) which will fund an annual award of approximately $450 each year.
