BRANDON – Brandon University’s (BU’s) biggest Homecoming yet begins with a full evening of activities this Thursday, Oct. 11.
With the theme Forever Blue & Gold, Homecoming 2018 is a four-day community celebration, capping a year of events that mark the 50th anniversary of BU’s first year as a university. The Class of 1968, the first graduates to receive BU degrees, will be recognized at the Dinner and Awards on Saturday night.

Gerald Brown and Nathan Peto will be recognized with Alumni Awards at the annual celebration.
BRANDON – A generous $50,000 donation has given Brandon University (BU) another big reason to celebrate as it marks its 50th year as a chartered university.
Brandon University alumnus and current Board of Governors member Kerry Auriat is partnering with National Bank Financial – Wealth Management, to make a $50,000 commitment to BU’s Healthy Living Centre (HLC).
Some of Canada’s most exciting musicians will headline a free concert next month to celebrate Brandon University’s 50th anniversary Homecoming.
Manitoba band Royal Canoe will top the bill, with special guest Begonia, as they add an extra date to the end of their ongoing North American tour for the BU Homecoming.
Tickets to the Chris Hadfield keynote at Brandon University’s 50th-anniversary Homecoming next month have sold out. Tickets to the event went on sale Monday at noon and the last one was snapped up by mid-afternoon on Wednesday.

For the first time, a Brandon University fine arts graduate has been named the regional winner in the BMO 1st Art! competition.
Jimmie Kilpatrick, also known as “Shotgun Jimmie,” won $7,500 for his rock-and-roll inspired submission, entitled “Quality Control.
BRANDON – The first installment of the Investors Group BIRT Cup under the Brandon University (BU) Bobcats’ banner was a success.
The alumni/charity tournament at the Wheat City Golf Course on Friday, July 13 raised $29,000 for several sports-related community initiatives.
