Student researchers at Brandon University are showing they’ve got the stuff when it comes to the fight against cancer.
Two BU students presented posters at the provincial competition during the CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) Research Day, held recently in Winnipeg.
Congratulations are in order for two members of the Brandon University community who competed at one of the world’s most prestigious races this month. Trent Gill and Scott Lamont each completed the 2023 Boston Marathon.
After a three-year hiatus, the Brandon University (BU) Chorale is embarking on another international tour. Previous versions of the choir have visited and sang in five other countries, including Brazil, France, Cuba, Estonia, and Latvia and the ensemble will make stops this week in Southern Manitoba and North Dakota, from April 26–29.

A rising star in the music world, Luis Ramirez is returning to Brandon this Friday to present ten original tango pieces, called his ‘Immigration Suite’.
A comprehensive review of the Brandon University Bobcats and Athletics unit provides a series of recommendations that will strengthen and enhance both operations and programming. Brandon University welcomes these recommendations as an opportunity to ensure that BU Athletics is at the forefront of providing a safe sport experience for everyone.
As Brandon University celebrates some outstanding women students for International Women’s Day, each of those being highlighted will also receive an art memento created by a previous honoree.
“We are so excited to unveil a new tradition this year, one that builds on existing traditions in a meaningful way while also highlighting BU talent,” said Morganna Malyon, a member of BU’s Status of Women Review Committee, which organizes and presents the annual awards as part of Women’s Week and International Women’s Day.
“Each year, we present selected students with a gift card for a local bookstore along with a list of women authors curated by the committee,” she said, noting that the gift cards were initially a pandemic pivot that has now become its own tradition.
With the country of Ukraine still bravely battling against a Russian invasion, residents of Brandon are invited to join the world in showing solidarity and support.
This Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, the one-year anniversary of the start of the invasion, Brandon will once again host a community march and rally.
