Brandon University has issued an open call for artists interested in creating a unique new work that will be presented to graduates at Convocation 2024 in the spring.

For this recent tradition, BU works with an artist each year to create a piece of art that is in some way reflective of that academic year.

The 18th annual Da Capo Conference for music educators is returning to Brandon University on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The all-day workshop of professional development opportunities for pre-service and current music educators is organized by BUSMEA, the Brandon University Student Music Educators Association, who are music education students creating professional development opportunities through workshops and other related events.

“BUSMEA is excited to welcome Alexis Silver as the keynote speaker for this year’s conference, who will present a session titled The Value of Teaching with Values,” said Abby Petersen, President of BUSMEA.

A new book by one of Brandon University’s most visible academics aims to help more researchers connect with the wider public with strategies to engage with the media.

Dr. Christopher Schneider is a sociology professor at Brandon University known not only for his broad expertise in policing and social media and in defining sexual misconduct, but also for his willingness to share that knowledge through the media.
