After a three-year hiatus, the Brandon University (BU) Chorale is embarking on another international tour. Previous versions of the choir have visited and sang in five other countries, including Brazil, France, Cuba, Estonia, and Latvia and the ensemble will make stops this week in Southern Manitoba and North Dakota, from April 26–29.

The Canadian University Music Society is pleased to announce that Luis Ramirez is the recipient of the 2021 SOCAN Foundation George Proctor Prize for his presentation entitled “The Online Composer-Audience Collaboration.”

The George Proctor Prize is awarded for the best paper presented by a graduate student at the annual conference of the Canadian University Music Society.

Award-winning pianist and Brandon University (BU) alumnus Everett Hopfner is the new Interim Director of the Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music at BU.
Hopfner has taught at the Conservatory since 2015 and has also been a sessional instructor at BU’s School of Music. Raised in the Manitoba community of Ste. Rose du Lac, he earned a Bachelor of Music at BU before completing his graduate studies in Germany.

BRANDON – Tassels were moved from one side of their caps to the next, as Brandon University’s newest alumni marked the symbolic moment when they moved from student to graduate.
Convocation concluded today at BU with two ceremonies, as hundreds of graduates received their degrees from the Faculties of Arts, Science, Health Studies and the School of Music.
