Brandon, MB — Brandon University’s Psychology, Math and Computer Science office assistant Brandy Robertson will be sitting on a jet plane next week en route for Gaborone, Botswana. There, she will undertake a four-month volunteer placement with the Botswanan chapter of World University Service of Canada (WUSC) as a Program Assistant with International Scholarship Management and Students Without Borders (SWB).

BRANDON, MB – The on-court efforts of a pair of former Brandon Bobcats will be recognized and honoured in the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame.
Bobcat alums Whitney Dabney and Keith Vassell were announced as part of the class of 2011 that will be inducted Saturday, October 1 at the Victoria Inn in Winnipeg.

Brandon University is pleased to announce the conferral of a Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) upon Canada’s Ambassador to the United States and Manitoba’s former Premier, Gary Doer.

BRANDON, MB — During the most recent Brandon University Senate meeting, the members approved a second three-year term — from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2014 — for Chancellor Henry Champ.
“I love it! I’m hoping to be renewed for a third term,” quipped Mr. Champ, who is originally from Hartney and Brandon, but is now based in Washington, D.C.

BRANDON, MB — The University is in the midst of exploring site plan options for creating a “village” site plan for student-family housing on 2.2 acres of the northern portion of 2405 Victoria Avenue, which was formerly Fleming School property. Some of the options will incorporate a community learning centre and daycare.

BRANDON, MB — Brandon University received a 5-year, $1million Community-University Research Alliance (CURA) research award from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). This award is aimed at a university-community partnership to improve success for children and youth in First Nations, Métis, Inuit (FNMI) and northern communities in Manitoba.
