Brandon, MB — Students in Dr. Patricia “Tish” Langlois’ course entitled Introduction to Gender and Women’s Studies, motivated by their newly acquired knowledge, will host an awareness and fund raising evening next Thursday. The money they raise will be forwarded to Doctors Without Borders to provide vital medical help for girls and women, survivors of sexual violence, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

BRANDON, MB – Two fifth-year volleyball players are ending their playing days with another award to their credit. Becky Young has been named the Pantages on Park Female athlete of the month and Kevin Miller is the Tip Top Tailors male athlete of the month for February.
BRANDON, MB — The contribution of two Brandon University students — Alisa Oakey and Erika Berthelot — has not only been acknowledged, but adopted by the federal Task Force on Financial Literacy. After meeting with individuals like Oakey and Berthelot, from across the country, the Task Force’s final report was made public last month.
LANGLEY, BC — For the second time in three years, the Brandon Bobcats are bringing home a medal from the CIS national championship tournament. The Bobcats improved on 2009’s bronze medal performance by winning the silver medal at this year’s event.
BRANDON, MB — Last week, to help 128 Grade 2 to 4 students celebrate “I Love To Read Month”, eight basketball Bobcats volunteered to read stories, to participate in various kid-friendly activities and to lead the children on tours of the campus.
The students, who hailed from George Fitton, King George, Riverview and New Era Schools, spent an entire morning absorbing the university atmosphere.
BRANDON,MB — Another successful season of Bobcats volleyball has brought a handful of individual awards. Four Bobcats have been honoured at the national level for their contributions this season.
BRANDON, MB — Vocal artist and School of Music faculty member David Playfair will be joined for a pro series recital by tenor Blaine Hendsbee, an associate professor at the University of Lethbridge.
With more than 50 roles in his repertoire, Hendsbee has appeared with most of the opera companies in this country and many in the United States.
