BRANDON – A long-running and influential journal based at Brandon University (BU) will benefit from a three-year extension in support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
The investment by SSHRC will provide $22,000 per year to assist with the continued publication of the Journal of Rural and Community Development (JRCD).

Scholars and researchers from around the world are at Brandon University this week to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing men and the latest research about masculinity as BU hosts the 2019 American Men’s Studies Association (AMSA) annual conference.

Student researchers at Brandon University are putting together a labour history exhibition to mark the centennial of the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike and Brandon Sympathy Strike and they are casting a wide net to find new photos and other visual materials.
The exhibit will be displayed in the Brandon General Museum and showcased in Winnipeg for the 1919/2019 conference this May as well as making appearances in other venues in the city.
