There are four full days of fun at Brandon University this weekend as we celebrate Homecoming. Everyone is invited to this celebration of community connection, with a special welcome to alumni, as well as faculty, staff and students.

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Orchestra has appointed Brandon University alumna Tanya Derksen as vice president of artistic production, effective October 28, 2019. Derksen comes to The Philadelphia Orchestra from the Regina Symphony Orchestra, where she serves as executive director.
A young doctor who returned to Brandon for her practice, a businessman with a lengthy career in recycling, and a health-care professional who turned to academia and service will all be recognized as outstanding Brandon University and Brandon College alumni.
Jillian DeCosse will receive the Distinguished Young Alumni Award, Cam Davreux will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award for Career Achievement, and Deb Carnegie will receive the Award for Exceptional Service.
Brandon University will welcome back Indigenous alumni from all years past for a special reunion day and celebration gathering during Homecoming this fall, replacing a smaller gathering that was originally planned for late August. The reunion is being organized by a special committee in partnership with the BU Alumni Association and the BU Indigenous Peoples Centre, and it will help renew and create more lasting relationships amongst alumni.

BRANDON – Tassels were moved from one side of their caps to the next, as Brandon University’s newest alumni marked the symbolic moment when they moved from student to graduate.
Convocation concluded today at BU with two ceremonies, as hundreds of graduates received their degrees from the Faculties of Arts, Science, Health Studies and the School of Music.
