The Gender & Women’s Studies (GWS) program at Brandon University invites proposals for projects that foster links between community-based organizations and our academic program. Brandon University will welcome 10 new graduate students from Ghana to study rural development over the coming four year, thanks a new international scholarship fund called the Canadian International Development Scholarships: 2030 (BCDI: 2030). The total value of the scholarships is $448,271.78.
A pair of Brandon University Bobcat alumni are coming off the bench for their best assist yet. Jill and Warren Watt, who each played for their respective Bobcat basketball squads in the late 1980s at BU, have generously donated $200,000 to support future generations of student-athletes.

Brandon University will host a viewing of the movie “UnCharitable” next month, sparking dialog around the ways philanthropic giving is regulated, and exploring ways to unlock the power of the charitable sector.
Brandon University has issued an open call for artists interested in creating a unique new work that will be presented to graduates at Convocation 2024 in the spring.
For this recent tradition, BU works with an artist each year to create a piece of art that is in some way reflective of that academic year.
The 18th annual Da Capo Conference for music educators is returning to Brandon University on Saturday, Jan. 20.
The all-day workshop of professional development opportunities for pre-service and current music educators is organized by BUSMEA, the Brandon University Student Music Educators Association, who are music education students creating professional development opportunities through workshops and other related events.
“BUSMEA is excited to welcome Alexis Silver as the keynote speaker for this year’s conference, who will present a session titled The Value of Teaching with Values,” said Abby Petersen, President of BUSMEA.
