When it comes to prices, you can’t beat free. Now combine that with a quality education! Brandon University is offering an unbeatable one-day incentive on Black Friday for Canadian students to submit their applications at no charge.
“An early application is a great way for future BU students to take the first step towards their degree,” said BU Director of Recruitment Leanne Barcellona. “With your application complete, you can start to make your plans for next year, or stay focused worry-free on completing high school.”
Early applications also have other benefits, she noted. Beating the spring rush means students can have their admission confirmed as swiftly as possible and ensures that students have every opportunity to qualify for early scholarships.
The one-day fee holiday is open to all Canadian students, who would normally pay a $70 application fee, which helps cover the costs of processing.
“With the holiday season coming up, dollars can be tight, so we’re happy to extend a helping hand,” Barcellona said, adding that she hoped to attract many new applicants. “We’re a great school, with a great community, but if you’re unfamiliar with us or with university in general, here’s a risk-free day to send in an application. We could be exactly what you’re looking for!”
To get the deal, all students need to do is apply and the discount will be offered to all Canadian applicants automatically. The promotion will run from midnight to midnight (Brandon time CST) on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023. If you encounter an issue, make sure your payment method is selected as “Black Friday”.
Want to be even more of an earlybird? Students can start their applications right now, and just be ready to click submit during Black Friday. The deal is endless: there’s no limit to the number of Canadian applications that BU will accept on Black Friday.

Let’s Start:
- Apply online. Complete and submit the online application and be sure to indicate all institutions attended/attending in your application. Almost all communications from the Admissions Office will be sent by email. Use an email account that you check regularly and add us to your safe-sender list.
- Save the fee! Submit your application between midnight and midnight (Brandon time, CST) on Black Friday. Applications are free for Canadians on Black Friday. But this price won’t last — take advantage now!
- Submit your documents. We’ll send you details on how to do this after we receive your application. Review Canadian required documents.
- Watch your email! Once we have your application, your fee, and your documents, we’ll review and send an Offer of Admission to everyone who’s eligible. We can’t wait to see you!
