BRANDON, MB – Brandon Bobcats women’s volleyball head coach Lee Carter has rounded out his 2011-2012 recruiting class with a college transfer.
Alexis Loewen has committed to play for the Brandon University Bobcats starting this fall.

Brandon, MB — The Rural Development Institute (RDI) has once again received financial support from Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives (MAFRI.) On hand to sign the agreement were Drew Caldwell, MLA for Brandon East, Dr. Deborah Poff, President and Vice-Chancellor of Brandon University and Dr. William Ashton, Director of RDI. This five-year financial support of $545,000 from the province will help sustain Brandon University-based, RDI-driven research efforts.

Brandon, MB — Professor Hamid Mumin, of the Geology Department at Brandon University, has received recognition for his work. He was chosen as one of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) Distinguished Lecturers during the CIM Conference’s Award Gala, held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal in May.
Dr. Mumin was lauded for “his ground-breaking work in the identification and discovery of Iron Oxide Copper-Gold deposits.
BRANDON, MB — Motivated by a number of Brandon University professors’ request and previous positive experiences, Dr. Deborah Poff — the University’s President and Vice-Chancellor — has made a successful bid to become a member institution of the University of the Arctic. She recently attended the organization’s annual general meeting, held at the University of Lapland in Rovaiemi, in Finland.

BRANDON, MB – Just as she ends one chapter of her life, graduating Bobcat Teagan Hunter is about to begin another. Hunter has agreed to play professional volleyball in Copenhagen, Denmark next season.
