BRANDON, MB – The Brandon Bobcats men’s volleyball team is welcoming another player with international experience to its roster. Sam Tuivai of Auckland, New Zealand is the newest member of Bobcat athletics.

Under the guidance of Associate Professor Michael Malazdrewicz, a quartet of business students — Stephanie Fung, Jeanette Hudon, Stephen Chycota and Kayvon Razzagh — have won the provincial portion of the You Innovate Competition. Their project entitled Grow Mugs, in which they recycled coffee mugs and filled them with earth and fresh herbs, propelled them to first place.

BRANDON, MB – The pre-season is over, and the 2011-2012 Canada West Conference regular season is upon us. Two Bobcats have been named Athlete of the Month for their contributions in October.
BEN GLUE is the winner of the Tip Top Tailors Male Athlete of the Month for October.

BRANDON, MB – Two former Brandon Bobcats will continue their playing careers overseas this season. Bobcat grads Andrew Korol and Erin Visch-Krahn both recently signed contracts with professional volleyball clubs in Europe.

BRANDON, MB — The 2011-2112 pro series continues with a recital featuring Belarus-born accordionist Alexander Sevastian. A three-time first-prize winner at the International Accordion Competition to his credit, Sevastian has truly commanded the world’s attention as one of the best.

Brandon, MB — Last month, in recognition of outstanding dedication to higher education and to community service as well as of leadership in social reform, Professor Emeritus Errol Black was inducted in the Order of the Buffalo Hunt. Premier Greg Selinger made the trip into Brandon for the occasion.

BRANDON, MB – The BU men’s volleyball team is set to host the annual Super 8 Tournament this Saturday and Sunday in the BU Gymnasium. The Bobcats will host the Regina Cougars, Winnipeg Wesmen and Waterloo Warriors in pre-season action.

BRANDON, MB – Recent Bobcat grad Kevin Miller will see his first international competition next month as the Russell, Manitoba product has cracked Canada’s Pan-American Games men’s volleyball roster.
Miller and his countrymen will head to Guadalajara, Mexico October 24 to 29 to represent Canada.

BRANDON, MB – Bobcat basketball fans will have a unique opportunity to see their favorite current Bobcats compete against familiar faces this Friday (September 30) in the BU Gymnasium. The first annual Bobcat Alumni Skills Competition will take place starting at 7 pm.
The event will feature various skills competitions between current members of the Bobcats roster and Bobcat greats like John Carson, Whitney Dabney and Dave Dominique, as well as local youth basketball players.
