BRANDON, MB — A Brandon University alumnus, Dr. Martin Lemaire will be returning to his alma mater as the newest Canada Research Chair (CRC) on faculty. Currently teaching chemistry at Brock University, beginning May 1, 2012, Dr. Lemaire will be the CRC in Molecular Spintronic Materials for the next five years in Brandon.

BRANDON, MB – Another great year of competition has concluded for the Brandon University Bobcats, and just like in all previous years, BU Athletics will hand out annual individual awards, acknowledge career milestones, and congratulate graduating players on their years of dedication to the Bobcats at the year-end awards banquet.
All Bobcat fans are invited to join the celebration of another successful year at this year’s banquet.

BRANDON, MB — Drs. Dean Care and Fran Racher, of the Brandon University School of Health Studies, together with a team of faculty members, have been awarded a one-year grant with the Knowledge Translation Supplement (KTS), a program of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Their project, entitled “Integrated Knowledge Translation Fosters Partnerships as Rural Postsecondary Students Collaborate to Improve the Health of their Campus Communities” has been awarded a grant of $89,293.
“This new funding will enable our research team to continue our work on improving the quality of life, health, and well-being of our university and college students.

BRANDON, MB – In his first full season as a Brandon Bobcat, rookie point guard Ilarion Bonhomme made quite a name for himself in the Canada West conference. His tireless work ethic, blazing speed and infectious personality are now being rewarded, as Bonhomme has been named Canada West Rookie of the Year.

BRANDON, MB – For the second season in a row Jonathan Sloane has been named a Canada West second team all-star. The Winchester, Ontario product just completed his fifth and final year of eligibility as a Brandon Bobcat and now has one more achievement to add to his resume.

BRANDON, MB – The Brandon University Bobcats women’s volleyball team has added another recruit for next year. Russell, Manitoba product Jasmine Lafournaise has committed to play for the Bobcats starting in the fall of 2012.

BRANDON, MB – A trio of Brandon high school stand-outs have committed to play for the Brandon University Bobcats women’s volleyball team beginning next season.
Crocus Plains products Jodie Baker and Mary Thomson as well as soon to be Vincent Massey grad Gillian Leech have verbally committed and now signed official letters of intent to join the BU Athletics program.
