“Tennis whites” had a different and much less savoury meaning during the sport’s early days in Manitoba, according to historical research prepared by Brandon University (BU) professor Dr. Alison Marshall.
Marshall, who has co-curated an exhibit on the history of the Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club, found that the sport was a real signifier of the predominance of British migration to Canada, especially in the early 1900s.

BRANDON, Man. – Dr. Dennis Anderson, the longest-serving Brandon University (BU) President since BU received its charter in 1967, will be honoured this month.

Maybe, when Brandon high school students read about quantum information decades from now, they’ll come across the name of one of this city’s own.

Pugh and his colleagues from University of Waterloo became the first team to beam an encrypted quantum transmission from the ground to a flying aircraft.
