On August 30, 2012, Brandon University hosted its 4th Annual Teaching Enhancement Seminar.  This year’s event featured a keynote address by Dr. Jay Wilson, a faculty member in the Department of Curriculum Studies and Graduate Chair of the Educational Technology and Design program at the University of Saskatchewan.

BRANDON, MB — Brandon University’s very own paleobotanist Dr. David Greenwood (above right, with Mackenzie Desautels, BSc. ’11) is back in the international spotlight as his contribution to a paper entitled Persistent near-tropical warmth on the Antarctic continent during the early Eocene epoch is released today in the esteemed British scientific journal Nature. He is currently in Australia to give a presentation on geological records of climate change, similar to what he discovered for the Nature paper, at the 34th International Geological Congress in Brisbane.

BRANDON, MB –Not long after announcing the program’s first American recruit in team history, Bobcats men’s volleyball coach Grant Wilson is pleased to announce the commitment of another.
Randy Preval will be joining fellow New Yorker and friend Rob McLean in Brandon next month, as the two will head north of the border, and help a relatively young Bobcats team at the same time.

 
BRANDON, MB — At the end of each day, after the cowboys had wowed the record-breaking crowds, fireworks lit up the skies at Calgary’s 100th annual Stampede and two Brandon University students were on hand to ensure everyone’s safety. The fourth-year students in Applied Disaster and Emergency Services (ADES) — Greg Bartlett and Kristy Hill — were assigned positions in the launch site or “hotzone”, to oversee that all safety precautions had been taken and that rules were being followed.

BRANDON, MB — Brandon University has a new Faculty. The Dean of Health Studies, Dr. Dean Care, the faculty members and the staff of the former School of Health Studies collaborated to meet the necessary criteria to reach faculty status and at the latest BU Senate meeting, it became official.

BRANDON, MB –– The dream of two Melita women has come true. Earlier this month, the Serruys sisters — Darci and Danielle —both graduated with education degrees from Brandon University (BU).

BRANDON, MB — With Toronto shimmering on his horizon, new Brandon University alumnus Chris Bentley is content to close the current chapter of his life. After four years of studying at his hometown university, the 24 year old has graduated with honours.
