Voting is open for the Destination: BU video challenge as international students share their journeys to Brandon University.

Two finalists, Rachael Olugbade and Phoebe Yeboah, are in the running for $1,000 in prizes — $500 for the video that is chosen as the best submission through the online ballot, and $500 for the video that is chosen as the best by the selection committee. Voting will take place until October 31 at BrandonU.ca/international-videos.

In the short, social media videos, the students share looks at their lives back home, their trips to Brandon and their first steps on campus for the fall term.

“It’s fascinating to meet our international students and learn more about their backgrounds. The commitment they show in travelling so far from home to pursue their education is inspiring,” said David Rowland, Director of International Activities at BU. “Destination: BU gives everyone a chance to learn more about our incredible international students and the unique stories they all share.”

This is the fifth year of the Destination: BU video challenge. Last year’s winners were Khairat Shittu, from Nigeria, and Melody Fagelogo, from Ghana.

Combining high quality education, small class sizes and some of the most affordable tuition in Canada, Brandon University is a desirable destination for students from around the world. In recent years, Nigeria, Ghana, India, Jamaica and China have been the countries with the highest international enrolment at BU.

Voting will be open until 5 p.m., Central on October 31. Voting is open to anyone world-wide, with a maximum of one vote per device.
