BRANDON, MB – Brandon University (BU) is pleased to announce that Toronto-based Heathbridge Capital Management is committing $40,000 towards an endowment for music students, a fund which will swell to $100,000 using contributions from the Manitoba Scholarship & Bursary Initiative (MSBI).
The Heathbridge Capital Management Ltd. Scholarship in Jazz Studies was established in 2008 with a $10,000 gift from the company, matched through the University’s allocation of MSBI funds.

BU President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah Poff says the donations from Heathbridge, combined with matching grants, will result in an endowment with an annual award of approximately $4,500 for a BU jazz performance student.
“Through this endowment,” says Dr. Poff, “Heathbridge is helping create an even stronger climate for student success at Brandon University’s internationally-recognized School of Music.”
To date, Heathbridge Capital Management has given more than $55,000 towards BU student development. President Rob Richards says, “Heathbridge has been associated with Brandon University for seventeen years. We are very gratified to have been able to make a difference to this community.”
Heathbridge Capital Management, wholly owned by employees, provides discretionary money management to individuals and foundations.
Brandon University, founded in 1899, promotes excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship; educating students so that they can make a meaningful difference as engaged citizens and leaders.
