The Journal of Rural and Community Development (JRCD) is pleased to announce the release of Volume 7, Issue 2. There are two forthcoming special issues in 2012: “From Rural Research to Policy and Back Again” (late summer) and “Palliative and End-of-Life Services in Rural and Remote Geographies” (early Fall).
The JRCD is an open access journal published by the Rural Development Institute (RDI) at Brandon University and available at http://www.jrcd.
BRANDON, MB — At the end of each day, after the cowboys had wowed the record-breaking crowds, fireworks lit up the skies at Calgary’s 100th annual Stampede and two Brandon University students were on hand to ensure everyone’s safety. The fourth-year students in Applied Disaster and Emergency Services (ADES) — Greg Bartlett and Kristy Hill — were assigned positions in the launch site or “hotzone”, to oversee that all safety precautions had been taken and that rules were being followed.
BRANDON, MB —Dr. Deborah Poff, Brandon University’s President and Vice-Chancellor, and Mayor Shari Decter Hirst today signed a Community Access Agreement for the soon-to-be-opened fitness and recreation facility.
The event took place in front of the new Healthy Living Centre (HLC) on Louise Avenue.
BRANDON, MB — Brandon University has a new Faculty. The Dean of Health Studies, Dr. Dean Care, the faculty members and the staff of the former School of Health Studies collaborated to meet the necessary criteria to reach faculty status and at the latest BU Senate meeting, it became official.
