A Brandon University history professor who is an expert on pre-Second World War Italy will be leading a workshop and introducing a film that explores fascism and antisemitism in fascist Italy. The event, organized by the Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada, will be held via Zoom on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 25. It is free but requires pre-registration.

A Brandon University research project to combat racism in Manitoba has been selected to receive just over $100,000 in federal support from Canada Heritage.
The project, housed in BU’s Centre for Aboriginal and Rural Education Studies (BU CARES), will create and distribute videos on social media that explore different experiences of racism, educate people on racism and bias, and support anti-racist actions.

The annual BU Homecoming awards dinner and gala is coming to you this year with a special ‘Bobcat Appreciation Meal’ available for order this Friday for fans, alumni, and the entire community.
While in-person events are on hiatus for the current time, Brandon University and the BU Bobcats are teaming up with Everyone Eats Brandon to create a special meal with a blue-and-gold theme during what would have been Homecoming weekend and the annual Bobcats reunion weekend.
Although the in-person Homecoming scheduled for this weekend had to be cancelled, Brandon University has new ways to come together this year.
“We are bringing Homecoming to you, wherever you are — either here in Brandon, or as one of our alumni around the world, there are new ways to explore BU and reconnect with your friends and former classmates,” said Carla Eisler, BU’s Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs.

Brandon University has nudged up one spot in the annual rankings of Canadian universities conducted by Maclean’s magazine. The rankings once again identify many of BU’s strengths in the raw data, value other strengths in ways that differ from BU, and fail to fully credit BU’s strengths as a regionally focused institution.
Everyone Eats Brandon, which is brought together in partnership by John Howard Society of Brandon and Brandon University Food Services, is ramping up for Thanksgiving. The popular program, which provides curbside and volunteer delivery meals three evenings a week, is adding extra capacity to provide loads of turkey and all the trimmings this weekend.
