Brandon University Visual Arts Assistant Professor Lisa Wood has a unique perspective on university cafeterias, and she’d like to share it with you.
Her exhibit, Cafeteria II, is on display at the University of Winnipeg from now until April 8, in Gallery 1C03.
It’s a joint exhibition with fellow artist Elvira Finnigan, exploring the dynamics of eating together and question how the experience of sharing a meal might be recorded and remembered.

The numbers added up to major success for the Math Pack, a team organized by Brandon University (BU) Mathematics and Computer Science Professor Susan Roddy for the Coldest Night of the Year.

BRANDON, Man. – Brandon University (BU) will begin wide campus and community consultation this month on its draft sexualized violence protocol.
The protocol, developed by BU’s Sexual Assault Advisory Group (SAAG), grew out of BU’s draft stand-alone sexualized violence policy, which was introduced in November and refined after months of consultation.

BRANDON, Man. – The Pro Series premiere of the Manitoba Trombone Collective will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Brandon University’s (BU’s) Lorne Watson Recital Hall.

Brandon University (BU) Theatre is preparing to stage the Canadian debut of Boy, a play by Leo Butler that was named one of the top 10 plays of 2016 by The Daily Telegraph in London.
The production will run from March 2 – March 5 at the Evans Theatre at BU.
Boy follows a day in the life of Liam, a young boy without much in the way of a stable home, struggling to find his place in the world.

A Brandon University (BU) researcher is tracking down stories from the Brandon First World War internment camp to use in a virtual reality project.
“I’m hoping to find pictures or stories of people who were there — or near there,” says Joe Dauphinais, a recent BU grad who has been brought on as a researcher for the project.

Brandon University (BU) is celebrating Indigenous Awareness Week with a series of events all week long, presented by the Indigenous Peoples’ Centre (IPC).
“We embrace Indigenous culture all year long, and this week is set aside to be a pinnacle of celebration, where we make a special effort to recognize and honour the history and culture that we’re proud to share here,” said Chris Lagimodiere, Director of the IPC and Aboriginal Initiatives at BU. “It’s important to invest some time in acknowledging the traditions of the Dakota, Anishanabek, Oji-Cree, Cree and Métis peoples on whose homelands BU stands, under Treaty 2.”
Along with an emphasis on culture and tradition, this year’s Indigenous Awareness Week will bring awareness to current concerns like missing and murdered Indigenous women.
