Great things can happen when you draw inspiration from those around you. Jinsung Kim’s story shows how natural talent, coaxed forward and cared for by teachers and mentors, can blossom into a promising future for the young musician.
The celebrated piano student is currently in his final year of a Masters Degree program at Brandon University’s School of Music, under the tutelage of Dr. Kyung Kim. Jinsung modestly recalls the early days of his musical education in Seoul, South Korea.

A mong the diplomas and memorabilia adorning Katherine Pachkowski’s bright, cheerful office is a contraption no bigger than a shoebox, cloaked in wood with a metal face sporting buttons and a big dial.
“That is an old-school Electro Convulsive Therapy machine that they used in the former Brandon Mental Health Centre,” says the Brandon University alumna and newly-minted Master’s degree holder in Bioethics from McGill.

A giant pink anti-bullying blanket made by the Brandon University Anti-Bullying Society is making its way to Ottawa next week.
The blanket, which measures 32 feet by 42 feet, is covered by close to 7,000 signatures from students to politicians taking their stand against bullying.
