Brandon University was well-represented at a recent Career Day at Chan Kagha Otina Dakota Wayawa Tipi School in Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation.
Career Planning and Placement Officer Doug Pople connected with students to share information about post-secondary pathways and career opportunities, helping inspire the next generation of learners. The event brought together professionals from a variety of fields to engage with students from Grades K–12.
During the visit, Pople also had the opportunity to reconnect with two Brandon University alumni who are now teaching at the school. Colleen Noel is a PENT graduate from 2019, and Jody Hall is a BEd graduate from 2021. Pople also connected with Birdtail Chief Trechelle Bunn, highlighting the strong and growing relationships between BU and Indigenous communities.
Thank you for the warm welcome and we look forward to continuing to support students in exploring their futures.
