Brandon University is rolling out the welcome mat for our community as campus comes alive this September with four days of Homecoming celebrations.

Running Thursday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 14, Homecoming 2025 promises something for everyone, from concerts and campus tours to stargazing, smores, and spirited reunions. Two special events on Tuesday, Sept. 9, will set the stage for the week, including a public talk by alumnus and ‘serial entrepreneur’ Mitch Taylor, as well as the Welcome Back Co-op Breakfast.

“This is the perfect time to come back to campus — whether you’re reconnecting with classmates, supporting local performers, or simply curious about what’s happening at BU,” said Carla Eisler, BU’s Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs. “Homecoming is about celebrating community, and everyone is welcome.”

Highlights of the weekend include:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 9: Two special kick-off events that bring alumni, students, and community together before the official start of Homecoming.
  • Thursday, Sept. 11 to Sunday, Sept. 14: Core Homecoming activities, including a Homecoming concert, PrairieCon GamesDay, exciting Bobcats action, and ample opportunities to explore BU’s research and facilities.
  • Saturday, Sept. 13: The Homecoming Dinner and Awards Evening, honouring three outstanding alumni for their achievements and service.
  • Sunday, Sept. 14: The Terry Fox Run, starting and finishing on campus, where the BU community will join together to support cancer research.

Alumni Association President Chris Hunt says that Homecoming is more than just a reunion — it’s a celebration of belonging.

“Homecoming weekend fills our campus with connections that last a lifetime,” Hunt said. “It’s about students, alumni, faculty, and community coming together to share stories, celebrate accomplishments, and look forward with pride and excitement.”

This year’s Homecoming will once again take advantage of the September sunshine, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy campus outdoors.
