The Brandon University community is mourning Angela Revet, a fixture in the John E. Robbins Library for nearly three decades. She is remembered for her strong personal relationships as well as for her invaluable professional services.
“Angela was a colleague known for her laughter, friendliness, joy, and sense of fun. She was a great lover of jokes and kept the candy bowl flowing!” said BU Chief Information Officer Melanie Sucha, who leads the library team. “Angela was organizer for the Library Team’s annual Christmas ‘silent auction’ event, to raise funds for Christmas Cheer — and she raised a great many chuckles as well.”
In her role as Acquisitions Clerk, Revet worked closely with both Library and Finance teams, and was a great support to many faculty members. She was known to search diligently for requested titles and for helping to fulfill rush requests for research and teaching needs.
Revet began her library career at Brandon University in 1997, shortly after having graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in 1994. Over the following 27 years, she helped source many of the books, videos, and electronic titles that fill its shelves — whatever anyone at the university needed, whenever they needed it.
Aside from her professional expertise, Revet brought her whole self to work, and would frequently share photos of her family, including her husband and her two sons, of whom she was fiercely proud.
“Angela cared very deeply for her BU colleagues and we in turn cared deeply for her,” Sucha said. “Her presence, smile, and laughter will be profoundly missed.”
Revet passed away Sunday, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday Feb 24, 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 3881 Park Ave. The service will also be livestreamed.

Brandon University is lowering its flag to half mast in Revet’s honour.
