The Brandon University Jazz Festival is ready for early-bird registration.

The 2024 edition of the BU Jazz Festival will take place March 14–16, and will welcome both new and returning guest artists, adjudicators and, of course, students and directors to the BU School of Music.

Registration this year includes an option to choose first-, second-, and third-choice performance blocks. Registrants looking for the same block as last year are likely to get it or a similar slot, but changes to the festival schedule may force some returning groups may move to a different block or day.

“We are excited to add more activities to Saturday, broadening the full BU Jazz Festival experience,” said Aren Teerhuis, the festival’s coordinator. “We’re not able to start the festival any earlier, so it’s wonderful to bring more workshops, BU ensemble concerts and more to the concluding weekend.”

The early-bird deadline for registration is Friday, Dec. 1st, 2023. Fees for groups registering on or before Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, are $400 per ensemble for ensemble registration, and $250 per ensemble for the optional post-performance clinic. Both registration fees increase by $25 after the early-bird deadline.

Early-bird registrants will receive a tentative schedule before the holiday break, with opportunity closer to the festival to provide group bio, stage plot, rep, and more information.
